City Cabin

We recently completed Bonnie’s City Cabin, Jeff’s mothers new Amish log home! One of the perks of retirement for her is the ability to travel, so when she is off carousing, she want’s to share the space with you.

We believe we have the best location in Madison. It’s 1.5 acres, on tiny dead end private road, surrounded by Lakeview Woods and if you walk to the top of the hill behind our house you can see the capital. We have a herd of deer that meanders through our front yard each day, a pair of owls, an occasional fox or turkey and we are only a 10-15 drive to downtown!

When you walk into the City Cabin you’ll feel like you are way up north, but with all the benefit’s of town. Full kitchen with everything you’ll need for a meal or just coffee & toast, 40 in TV’s hanging in living room and bedroom, WiFi, washer & dryer. It’s filled with fun stuff Jeff has collected from his customers, our families and our travels. As a plumber, Jeff had fun building the bathroom. The sink faucet is an old hand pump he had refinished, the shower is mix of 3 shower heads that surround and relax you. The in-floor radiant heat warms your toes and makes you want to cuddle up on the couch and relax after a day of work or play.

We plan to provide unique features, such as the excellent local chefs we know who will come in and whip up a romantic dinner for two. Or providing some local brews and other foodie delights. Are you in town for a week or more? have one of the local organic stores deliver fresh foods right to the door.
